Part of Marvel Comics' series of Epic Collections, tradepaperback collections of long runs of their most popular series. This Avengers volume, "This Beachead Earth," collected Avengers (1963) #77-97 and Incredible Hulk #140, including the popular Kree-Skrull War storyline, as well as Ellison's Psyklops story from Avengers #88 and Incredible Hulk #140. This fifth volume of the Avengers collected comics from the years 1970-1972. Strangely, the Epic Collections use the logo from Marvel's 1980s creator-owned comics line Epic Comics, whose Epic Illustrated first printed Ken Steacy's adapatations of Ellison's Night and the Enemy stories.
